Great Western Mining Corporation plc (GWMO), the Irish based exploration company, has noted a significant increase in gold and silver values per ton at its prospect in Mineral County Nevada, according to recent tests carried out by Grand Junction Laboratories in Colorado. In late November 2007 while one field crew was preparing a bulk sample of Uranium bearing ore for laboratory heap leach testing another crew was collecting soil and pit samples along the flanks of the adit being testing for U308. Test results to hand show ore grade values of gold and silver in several of the field samples. The laboratory tests were carried out by Grand Junction Laboratories, Colorado. Those showing ore grades are as follows: Grams per Ton | Sample | # | Gold | Silver
| | 1. | IWM - 1
| 6.78 | 1,549 | | 2. | IWM - 4
| 7.77 | 123.48 | | 3. | IWM - 5 | 68.43 | 4,696.6 | | 4. | IWM - 6 | 12.75 | 332.8 | | 5. | IWM - 11 | 1.06 | 44.48
| | 6. | IWM - 12
| 7.59 | 419.9
| | 7. | MC5A | 3.67 | 69.3
| | 8. | MT122-04 | 6.16 | 90.8
|
Sample IWM - 5 was of particular high grade, containing 40% galena (silver bearing lead sulphide), resulting in the understandably high reading of silver. This reading should not be taken as representative of the entire vein structure or mineral deposit. The Directors of Great Western Mining Corporation Plc are encouraged by the continuation of these significant values and await results of bulk uranium tests expected by mid-February. The company has engaged the services of a consulting mining and geological engineering firm to expedite a comprehensive 'Competent Persons Report' on current prospects of the area under licence and a suggested summer work programme. Great Western Mining Corporation plc is traded on the PLUS market in London (symbol: GWMO). The Directors of the Issuer accept responsibility for this announcement.
